I’m the guy agencies call on to craft evocative, honest portraits of real people and places.
Authentic, emotive, and unusual, my images tell stories even when they stand alone.
After a couple decades running my own shop and honing my craft as a commercial and editorial photographer, I’m still enamored with the language and allure of the medium. I’m known for my ability to put people at ease -- even or especially when they don’t love having their picture taken.
A successful shoot is about more than great images; it’s about great customer service. It should be a fun, thorough, and satisfying experience for the client. I enjoy the thrill of overseeing production with a crew of thirty, but also never tire of the intimacy of a small shoot. Assignments have taken me across the country from Memphis to Raleigh to Virginia Beach to Los Angeles. I’ve had the privilege of photographing all kinds of professional talent and real people – from the executive team of a global biotech firm, to presidential primary candidates, to unhoused teens aging out of foster care.
In 2019, I relocated from St. Louis to the Pacific Northwest, and now live in weird and magical Portland with my brilliant wife Jackie and our two boys, Jupiter and George.
